Mahiliou oblast: signatures are passed to election commissions

As said on 3 March by Liudmila Makaranka, secretary of the Mahiliou oblast election commission, the territorial and constituency election commissions of the Mahiliou oblast received 1,271 packets of documents for registration of candidates.

The majority of the initiative groups (1001) nominate their representatives to village Soviets, 234 – to district Soviets, 22 – to settlement Soviets, 8 – to the Soviets of towns and cities of oblast subordination and 6 – to the oblast Soviet.

89 of the nominated candidates are younger than 30, 627 are women, 384 work in the sphere of education, culture, science and health protection and 112 are state officials, 8 are unemployed and 2 are citizens of Russia.

Bear in mind that one needs to collect 20 signatures for nominating a candidacy to village Soviets, settlement Soviets or the Soviets of the towns of district subordinations. 75 signatures are necessary for nomination to the Soviets located in the towns and cities of oblast subordinations and 150 signatures – to the oblast Soviet of Deputies.
