Ivan Shyla is not registered as observer at district election commission

On 1 March, the Salihorsk district election commission adopted a negative answer towards the address of the electors who nominated the youth activist Ivan Shyla as an observer to the commission.

Ivan Shyla collected ten signatures for his nomination, but the commission members stated that two of them were ‘doubtful’ and proposed the he should collect the signatures once again. Mr. Shyla states that no check-up of the signatures were conducted and that the first seven signatures belonged to well-known civil activists of Salihorsk and the rest were given by electors.

Despite the first denial, on 2 March Ivan Shyla filed a repeated application on behalf of 12 citizens who wanted to see him as an observer at the commission. The commission has three days for answering the application.
