Orsha: observer cannot receive information about initiative groups
Actions of the territorial election commissions in the Orsha district raise doubts about the transparency of the election campaign.
In particular, the Orsha town election commission didn’t provide Siarhei Trafimau, an observer with official accreditation, with information about the registered initiative groups. At which constituencies were such groups registered? Who expressed the wish to be nominated a candidate to the local Soviets by collecting the electors’ signatures? All these questions remain unanswered. The only thing Ina Khamutouskaya said to the observer was that ‘many initiative groups were registered’. The Orsha district election commission also refused to provide detailed information on the issue.
