Hrodna independent journalist Ales Dzianisau was charged with arbitrariness by the local police department and may be fined under civil proceedings, Radio Racyja reports.
Ales Dzianisau was detained a month ago in a Hrodna public school while making a story on optional school courses, which was deemed as violation of his Constitutional rights.
‘Under the Constitution, I have a right to receive information, that does not undermine national security. As for the incident at school, I think the policemen abused their power, the charges looking absolutely unfounded,’ says the journalist.
Ales Dzianisau says he is going to appeal the arrest at the local prosecutor’s office.
