The criminal case of the Belarusian Christian Democracy’s Navahradak activist Yury Kazak will be considered under appellate proceedings by Hrodna Regional Court on 18 February, says Mr. Kazak’s legal counsel Pavel Sapelka.
The activist was sentenced to 8,750,000 roubles worth fine for spilling Lenin’s statue in Navahradak’s central square with green paint. His lawyer Pavel Sapelka lodged a complaint with Criminal Panel of Hrodna Regional Court, urging to reverse the verdict and initiate a review of the case.
