Brest Leninski Court turned down the complaint lodged by Young Front member Yauhen Skrabets due to the absence of certain documents. The activist claims his conscription into the army was illegal.
‘The Judge demanded a number of documents that are not compulsory for the consideration of Skrabets’s complaint. Secondly, it is difficult to collect papers serving in the army. Thirdly, it takes three weeks for letters to reach the military unit in Zhodzina. I think the judge purposely tries to cool it, in order not to accept moral responsibility for a judgment,’ says Young Front member Nasta Loika. According to Mrs. Loika, the verdict will be appealed at a higher court.
