Union of Poles: new repressions
Representatives of the economic crimes department of Valozhyn district police are currently interrogating the leaders of the Union of Poles’ Ivianets office, including the Union’s chair Mrs. Andżelika Borys, Radio Racyja reports.
Previously, the Union was inspected by the State Control Committee.
According to Andrzej Poczobut, chair of the Union’s Executive Board, the actions by the police are purposeful: ‘The authorities aim at forcing the organization and its leaders to join the pro-government Union of Poles. The numerous inspections pursue psychological intimidation of those who support Andżelika Borys and do not want to join the pro-government Union.’
The police refuse to provide any comments on the reasons of the inspection, pleading secrecy.
