Police arrest director of firm where Mikalai Autukhovih worked
The director of Vaukavysk firm Nika-Taxi 22222 Liudmila Paremskaya was detained by the police and special purpose squad Almaz from Minsk. The office of the firm was searched and documents were seized.
RFE/RL learnt this from human rights activist Aleh Vouchak. The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs does not give any comments on the detention of Liudmila Paremskaya.
Liudmila Paremskaya was questioned two times after arrests of the former director of Nika-Trans Mikalai Autukhovich and his employees Yury Liavonau and Uladzimir Asipenka. Human rights activists reported that the businesswoman was asked to say information that would be used in the case of Autukhovich, Liavonau, and Asipenka. It is unknown if any accusation will be brought against Liudmila Paremskaya. According to her family, she managed to say she was being guarded to a prison in Minsk.
‘I relate detention of Paremskaya with the fact that the case of Autukhovich is falling apart. They have no proofs and are looking for any hook. It may be even stealing macaroni from a shop! I am convinced they will fail. The case should be closed and the innocent people should be freed,’ the former investigator Aleh Vouchak thinks.
