Human rights organization ‘Brest Viasna’ is denied registration as well

Brest oblast executive committee again refused to register the human rights organization Brest Viasna.

This time the official reason for non-registration is the cancellation of the rent guarantee by the owner of the premises where the legal address would be placed. By the way, according to Uladzimir Vialichkin, the head of the initiative group established for registration of the organization, the previous day the owner of the premises did not voice any pretensions.

Bear in mind that Brest Viasna has been trying to receive the official status since January 2009. The two previous refusals were motivated by inaccuracies in the charter and absence of the receipt for placement of the registration ad in a newspaper among the documents that were submitted for registration.
