Syarhei Kavalenka, Ihar Bazarau, Valer Alyaksandrau, Leanid Autukhou, and Alyaksandr Kuznyatsou will stand trials for participating in actions on March 25.
The cases of the five activists are to be considered by the Kastrychnitski district court of Vitsebsk today, Radio Svaboda reports.
Syarhei Kavalenka, member of the BPF Conservative Christian Party, and his friend Ihar Bazarau had to spend the night in the temporary detention facility. They and Valer Alyaksandrau unfurled national flags on Freedom square. Valer Alyaksandrau wasn’t detained, as he is physically challenged.
Leanid Autukhou, head of the BPF branch in Haradok, will be guarded to the Kastrychnitski district court from the temporary detention facility. He unfurled a national flag at the memorial plaque to Vasil Bykau, where civil activists came to lay flowers.
Civil activists and human rights defenders from Vitsebsk are going to attend all trials against the oppositionists to express their solidarity with them.
