St.Valentine’s day action still not sanctioned by Minsk authorities

Minsk city executive committee still hasn’t given any answer to the application of the Young Front activists for sanctioning a festive carnival procession on 14 February. Bear in mind that the application was signed by three members of the organization and submitted to the committee a month before the action, following all legal requirements.

‘The application was signed by me, Katsiaryna Halitskaya and Nasta Palazhanka and was submitted to Minsk city executive committee on 14 January. Despite the fact that according to the legislation the authorities must answer it at least five days before the action, there is still no answer,’ said one of the applicants, Tatsiana Shaputska.

By the way, as said by her, the Young Front is going to hold the festive action in the center of Minsk even if the city authorities give a negative reply to the application. Bear in mind that actions on St.Valentine’s Day are traditional for Young Front and have been carried out since 1997.
