KGB wants to recruit Young Front activist
Activist of the Homel branch of the Young Front Dzianis Siaskou was visited by a KGB officer in college on Thursday.
According to the guy, the KGB officer asked about political activity of the Young Front activist, about his relations with Andrei Tsianiuta.
‘He was very interested in Andrei Tsianiuta: who his friends are, where he works, what he does in spare time, he also asked about other things from Andrei’s life,’ Dzianis Siaskou said.
At the end of the conversation, the KGB officer offered Dzianis Siaskou to provide the KGB with information about activity of the Young Front. The activist flatly denied this proposal.
It should be reminded that activists of the Young Front and the organizing committee on creation of the Belarusian Christian Democracy Party Vasil Takarenka, Kanstantsin Zhukouski, and Andrei Tsianiuta were detained during a picket near the Homel KGB directorate and guarded to Tsentralny district police department of Homel on 3 February. It is not the first case when the KGB has been interested in Young Front activist Andrei Tsyanyuta. In September 2007 Tsianiuta was suspected in activity on behalf of unregistered organization Young Front. A criminal case was instigated against him at that time.
