Dwellers of Baranavichy are trying to make the local authorities permit Belarusian-language program эI love my landэ be transmitted by the local radio.

The program was on air for 10 years. Belarusian verses and songs sounded in this program. Then, someone decided people do not need this project. Local writers have repeatedly applied the local authorities over this matter, but haven’t received a permit, ERB reports.

Instead, they were offered to make a program on a commercial basis, paying 20 000 rubles per minute of recording and per minute of air. So, a 20-minute program would cost 800 000 rubles (about $290).
