Salihorsk: police detain trade union activist

On 12 December in Salihorsk the police detained an activist of the independent trade union of radio-electronic industry (ITUREI) Mikalai Pakhabau.
According to the regional coordinator of the ITUREI Larysa Nasanovich, Mikalai was returning to Salihorsk from Minsk. The policemen stopped his car and found in the trunk copies of address of ITUREI adherents to Salihorsk authorities concerning the necessity to build a new polyclinic.
Acording to Larysa Nasanovich, at 3 p.m. Mr. Pakhabau was still kept at Salihorsk district police department. An investigator was having a ‘talk’ with him there.
