Andrei Pachobut, an independent journalist from Hrodna has received a temporary accreditation at the Belarus’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a correspondent of «Gazeta Wyborcza» daily, published in Poland.

At the same time, correspondents of several media outlets, broadcasting to Belarus from abroad cannot get accredited at the same Ministry as before.
Andrei Pachobut informed the BAJ Press Service that he had applied for an accreditation before the Parliamentary election, immediately as soon as the authorities permitted him to leave the territory of Belarus after a three-year ban.

However, journalists from some other foreign media outlets, like «The European Radio for Belarus» and «Radio Racyja» received refusals from the Ministry, when they applied for similar official accreditations.

A Deputy Chairman of BAJ Andrei Bastunets has noted in his interview to the BAJ Press Service that apparently, the fundamental difference for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs lies in the audiences of the applying media outlets, as a part of them is totally aimed at the audience abroad, like «Gazeta Wyborcza» and another part relies on the audience inside Belarus, like «The European Radio for Belarus» and «Radio Racyja».
