Brest: No BPF members remain in precinct election commissions

Only one BPF member was included in precinct election commissions of Brest. Now the party has not representatives in the commissions.   S. Batskevich was the only BPF representative included in Brest precinct election commissions. For personal reasons, he had to decline his responsibility. The party nominated another member Siarhei Vakulenka for the “vacant” seat. He submitted documents for registration as a commission member on September 5th. Maskouski rayon administration of Brest informed him his application would be considered at the nearest meeting.   On September 17th the executive committee held a meeting. Vakulenka was informed, the participants had decided to reduce the number of commission members from 13 to 12 people. According to Mr. Tsimashuk, head of the organizational work of Brest oblast executive committee, all the election work has already been done by commission members, and they don’t need anyone “just to sit there”.  Human Rights Defenders for Free Elections
