Baranavichy: procuracy evades from giving legal evaluation

Recently a candidate for deputy Mikalai Charnavus has addressed the procurator of Baranavichy with the request to hold an expertise concerning the fact of alleged forging of the dates in the lists with signatures in support of his candidacy.

Charnavus applied to the procurator after the constituency electoral commission accused his team of forging the dates in the signature lists. The acting procurator of Baranavichy M.Kvashnin answered that the eleven signatures which had been found invalid by the commission did not prevent Charnavus from being registered as a candidate and that the Electoral Code did not provide such expertise, that’s why he refused to grant the petition.

On receiving the answer Mr. Charnavus composed an appeal to the procuracy of Brest oblast. There he states that Baranavichy procuracy evades from giving legal evaluation to the actions of the electoral commission.
