In Hrodna northern electoral district #51 Aleh Kalinkou, a member of the initiative group of the oppositional candidate Yaraslau Ramanchuk, noticed a group of youngsters collecting signatures in the street without asking for people’s passports.
Mr. Kalinkou asked people about it when collecting signatures and found that it was not a single case. Dwellers of electoral district #51 told him that members of the pro-governmental state NGO Belarusian Republican Youth Union (BRSM) had asked them to put signatures even if they had not passports with them. Name and surname was enough.
Independent observers think that the passport data will be issued to the BRSM members at the passport offices.
