Mahiliou: democratic activists state their intention to be present during the formation of electoral commissions
The local democratic activists have addressed the authorities of Mahiliou with the request to inform them about the place and time of the sitting of Mahiliou oblast executive committee and the presidium of Mahiliou oblast soviet of deputies at which the lists of members of electoral commissions will be adopted.
The application was made on behalf of the human rights activist Barys Bukhel, the leader of Mahiliou oblast organization of the Party of Communists Belarusian Valery Beraziyenka and the head of Mahiliou oblast organization of the Belarusian Popular Front Party Ryhor Kostuseu.
‘I filed an address to the presidium of Mahiliou oblast soviet of deputies and to Mahiliou oblast executive committee, and Valery Beraziyenka – to the head of Mahiliou OEC Barys Batura’, said Barys Bukhel.
According to Bukhel, Valery Beraziyenka has a doubtless right to attend this sitting because of his being a nominee to the district electoral commission from his party.
According to the law, the authorities are to send an official answer within three-day term. Judging from his previous experience, Mr. Bukhel has almost no hope for inclusion of any democratic activists in the electoral commissions.
