Belarus officially invites BDIHR OSCE to the parliamentary elections
On 9 July in the evening the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus sent official invitation to the Bureau of Democratic Institutions and Human Rights of the OSCE for monitoring of the parliamentary elections in Belarus.
The invitation, which has been sent 2.5 months prior to the beginning of the voting, lets representatives of BDIHR OSCE to organize an adequate monitoring of the electoral process. According to preliminary information, the observation mission will consist of about 40 long-term observers and 300 short-term observers.
A similar invitation was sent to the Inter-parliamentary assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). According to MFA, Belarus decided to direct official invitations only to the international structures it is a member of.
