On 11 June in Polatsk the police detained five activists of the Young Front: Mikalai Dzemidzenka, Siarzhuk Karalionak, Ales Khaberau, Ales Krutkin and Katsiaryna Salauyova for unfurling a banner ‘Stop dictatorship’ opposite Polatsk city executive committee.
The detainees were taken to the local police department. One of them, Ales Khaberau, felt bad and was taken away by ambulance. The violation reports under Article 23.34, part 3 (participation in repeated unauthorized picketing) were drawn on the detained persons. The maximal sanction on this part of the article is 15 days of jail.
From the police department the detained activists were taken to the pre-trial prison. Tomorrow they will be tried.
