Chief of the colony “Vitba-3” Vital Ahnistykau refused to speak with journalists on the morning of 25 February, but said to human rights activist Paval Levinau, he was preparing a refusal for Alyaksandr Kazulin of leaving the colony for funeral of his wife, who died on 23 February.

As P. Levinau said to journalists V. Ahnistykau explains refusal of a short-term leaving of the correctional facility with the fact Kazulin has four disciplinary penalties and taking into consideration the personality of the prisoner, he has no right to leave the colony.

Paval Levinau wondered if chiefs of V. Ahnistykau in Minsk could take another decision. The administration of the colony said the decision is taken by him personally, but in case of another decision the initial one would be recalled.

Journalists and P. Levimau will try to meet with the colony chief in the middle of the day to learn if the decision had changed.

It should be reminded Alyaksandr Kazulin declared he was to go on a hunger strike in case he wouldn’t be allowed to leave the colony for his wife’s funeral. “In this case you will bury us together in 5-6 days,” the political prisoner said.
