Protestant Priests Make Ultimatum to Lukashenka
The pastors of more than 40 Belarusian churches of the Association of Communities of Full Gospel Christians have applied to Aliaksandr Lukashenka.
In their letter they expressed concern with the increasing pressurization of Protestant churches. A special attention was paid to the confrontation of Minsk officials and the New Life Church. The European Radio was informed about it by the church lawyer Siarhei Lukanin.
‘In this letter it is said that in the case the authorities continue pressurizing the bishop of our association Viachaslau Hancharenka, its churches reserve the right to take part in actions of civil insubordination all over Belarus,’ Lukanin said. According to him, now Evangelic Christians are ready to proceed from prayers to open action including political ones.
