BPF Youth Activist Gets 10 Days of Jail
Today Kastus Hrakhau, activist of BPF Youth, was sentenced to 10 days of arrest. The police stopped the youth activist on September 23rd in the center of Minsk and asked him to show his bag. They found about 100 stickers with the call to participate in the European March, planned for October 14. At Centralny police department of Minsk the police drew up a report about administrative violation under Article 23.34 part 1 of the Administrative Code – violation of the established procedure of organizing and holding mass event. Before the trial Kastus Hrakhau was kept at Akrestsina detention center.
Today Centralny court of Minsk judge Tatsiana Pauliuchuk found the activist of BPF Youth guilty and sentenced him to 10 days of jail. As usual, the police officers who detained the activist testified during the trial. The officers are S. Zavadski and Ye. Kuprayonak. Certainly, the court did not challenge their testimony. Kastus Hrakhau will be released at .30 p.m. on October 3rd.
