Political Prisoner Artur Finkevich Threatened with New Criminal Case
The head of Mahiliou special commandant’s office, lieutenant colonel Aliaksandr Lamaza reminded Artur Finkevich that he is a malicious violator of discipline, and a criminal action can be brought up against him, and a place of detention can be changed.
According to the political prisoner, the head of the special commandant’s office warned him after a meeting with Liudmila Hraznova and article in Svobodnye novosti plus about his life in the corrective labor facility. In the article among other things Finkevich’s public activities during his stay in chemistry were mentioned.
Artur Finkevich notes that the administration of the corrective labor facility looks for pretexts to send him in prison. This time the administration tried to use the article in Svobodnye novosti plus. The administration finds public activities while serving a sentence a violation of the regime.
On 4 June Artur Finkevich was denied conditional early release.
In May 2006 the activist of Young Front Artur Finkevich was sentenced to two years of freedom restriction for political graffiti. Since 29 June 2006 he is serving his sentence in Mahiliou corrective facility. This December he is to be released.
