Organizers of Belarusian Folk-Singers’ Concert Can Be Fined

The organizers of the 23 June concert of bardic music which hosted a range of well-known singers including Andrei Melnikau, Zmitser Bartosik, Valzhyna Tsiareschanka, Zmitser Vinahradau and the beginner Yauhen Valoshyn, were summoned to the local taxes and duties inspectorate.

According to tax inspectors, one of the guests saw a basket on the stage and put 5 000 Belarusian rubles (about 2 US dollars) there, but didn’t get a bill, and wrote an application to the tax inspectorate. Moreover, Radio Ratcyja reports on three applications of this kind.

The organizers of the performance Larysa Schyrakova and Zmitser Zhaleznichenka gave their comments. They were summoned to the tax inspectorate again on 9 July. Mr. Leushunou, the head of the executive department passed copies of the examination act. Larysa Schyrakova and Zmitser Zhaleznichenka are charged with breach of the Administrative Code (illegal private business). The data were passed to the court. The concert organizers can be fined 15-75 dollars.
