Prosecutor’s Office Continues Intimidating Active Youth
In the morning on 20 June the police and people in plain clothes detained the youth activists Yauhen Ivaniuk, Nadzeya Mantsevich and Anastasiya Shamrei and took them to Minsk city prosecutor’s office.
As HRC Viasna learned, all of them were given official warnings. ‘According to the information of Minsk regional prosecutor’s office you intend to organize and participate in the activity of the unregistered organization Belarusian Student Association, concerning which there is an enforced liquidation verdict of the Supreme Court. Such activity is punished by article 193.1 of the Criminal Code,’ runs the warning.
According to the law On prosecutor’s office, the prosecutor’s office has the right to issue warnings about inadmissibility of such activity. The warning was signed by the deputy prosecutor of Minsk, senior justice advisor A.Stuk.
