It is to be mentioned that after the people for whom there hadn’t been enough room in the court where the criminal trial of rights’ defender Valery Shchukin had been held were dispersed, some of them were hurt and the emergency ambulance was sent for. The victims were taken to Vitsebsk regional hospital.
The minor Alena Bahdanava, as member of the Belarusian Helsinki Committee Pavel Levinau reported to the press-service of the United Civil Party, had her head x-rayed. The final diagnosis was ‘injury of the back of the head and of the left part of the jaw’.
The doctors offered to hospitalize the girls. But then it was said that the militia was coming to the hospital and for this reason the girls refused of hospitalization and left the hospital before the militia’s arrival. The doctors recommended them to be under the supervision of their local doctors.
The police also inflicted injuries to 9-year old Yahor Shatsikau, son of the public activist Krystsina Shatsikava. The final diagnosis in this case was ‘injury of the right-side temple area’. The doctor recommended him to consult a neuropathology specialist.
According to Pavel Levinau, Alena Bahdanava complains of headaches. Nevertheless, as it became known, the militia intends to subpoena and charge her of the administrative law violation in the course of unsanctioned picketing.
