Artur Finkevich Is Left at Corrective Labor Facility

On 4 June the political prisoner Artur Finkevich was denied early release. In the documents of the check-up commission on this matter (a sitting of which took place on 14 March) Mr. Finkevich is described as a malignant violator of the internal regulations of the penitentiary institution, as a result of which it is impossible to grant parole to him. At present Artur Finkevich has 3 reprimands from the administration of the corrective labor facility. In the case he receives one more he can be transferred to prison.
On 10 May 2006 A.Finkevich was sentenced to 2 years of corrective labor for malignant hooliganism (part 2 of article 339 of the Criminal Code). Finkevich was detained on 30 January 2006 for making graffiti ‘We Want a New One!’. His term ends in December 2007.
