Protestant Pastor Antoni Bokun Sentenced to 3 Days of Jail

The pastor of John the Precursor Church of the United Church of Christians of the Evangelic Faith in the Republic of Belarus Antoni Bokun was sentenced by the Central District Court to 3 days’ arrest.
The pastor was detained in his apartment in Dauhinauski Trakt in Minsk. He was brought to Tsentralny police department of Minsk.
The priest was detained when serving a mass. The law enforcement body participants declared that Mr. Bokun served without special sanction. It is to be mentioned that for the same reason the priest was detained 27 May. Then he was brought to the prison in Akrestsin Street where he was kept until the trial. 28 May the court fined the priest to the amount of 620 000 rubles (about 300 US dollars) for the unsanctioned religious service.
