Flash-mob in Support of Andrei Klimau
At 10.15 a.m. about 10 youngsters gathered in Yakub Kolas Square and came to Impulse marketplace. There they lined up with portraits of the arrested politician and stood in line for about 10 minutes. Then they started handing out leaflets with Klimau’s biography. There it was mentioned that Klimau was a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of Belarus of the 13th Convocation, headed the Parliamentary commission for investigation of the crimes that were committed by the highest state authorities, was twice imprisoned, the last time for organization of a peaceful protest action on 25 March 2005.
‘This action is not the only one today. We intend to conduct several similar actions in different districts of the city. We must support Andrei Klimau at least this way, as he is persecuted for expressing his opinion about the present authorities of Belarus. His arrest is politically motivated’, commented one of the flash-mob participants to BelaPAN.
