Prisoner Zmitser Dashkevich to Be Transferred to Hospital?

As Human Rights Center Viasna learned, after 12 April the leader of the unregistered organization Young Front Zmitser Dashkevich will be directed from the penal colony of Shklou (where he is serving his sentence) to the prison hospital in Minsk. The reason is that Zmitser has frequent aches in the back. It can be connected with his transfer to the local sawmill, where he has to work 10 hours a day.

Zmitser’s mother Volha Dashkevich expressed concern about the state of his son’s health even earlier, as before the imprisonment the doctors prohibited hard works to him.

Bear in mind that Zmitser Dashkevich was sentenced to 1,5 years of jail for ‘activity on behalf of unregistered organization’. The prison administration has already given to him 4 disciplinary reprimands, thus depriving him of the right to be released on parole.
