Today Kastrychnitski court of Vitebsk will hear cases of Hanna Latyshava, Alena Zaleskaya, Yan Taupyha, Yan Dziarzhautsau, and Siarhei Kavalenka. The activists were detained on March 25. They are charged with “violation of the order of organizing or holding mass events”. The maximum penalty is a fine of up to 450 US dollars, or up to 15 days in jail.

Another two participants of the Freedom Day action – Barys Khamaida and Ales Pazniak – are waiting for a separate trial to begin.
