Reporters from Narodnaya Volya and European Radio for Belarus Not Allowed to Enter Kastrychnitskaya Square
Five reporters of independent media were not allowed to go to Kastrychnitskaya square. At noon the reporters were stopped at Lenina Street in Minsk near the building of the CIS office. Police lieutenant colonel Piotr Lapatsik told them that only people with special permissions can walk further, reports Belarusian Association of Journalists.
When the reporters showed their press cards and explained that they were on a mission, Lapatsik talked to his boss on a walkie-talkie. He was asked what editions the reporters represented. When the police boss heard that they were from independent newspaper, he ordered not to let them in. “Get them”, -- the reporters heard from the walkie-talkie. The policemen didn’t detain them but ordered them to leave.
