Yuras Hubarevich, head of Brest BPF Party, told BelaPAN about the incident. Halina Paulava and Ludmila Peradryichuk spread flyers about the 89th anniversary of the Belarusian People’s Republic and an address to the Belarusian people.
At 11 a.m. they were detained by police and taken to a police station. At 12.40 the police released them with no reports. The police seized 250 copies of printed materials from the activists.
“The detention again highlighted the situation which is happening all over the country: “hunting” on activists of the pro-democratic movement, who spread printed materials. I suppose it may happen in other regions of Belarus as well”, -- Yuras Hubarevich says.
