Activity of Mahiliou KGB Increases
From attempts to recruit students and intimidation of public activists the KGB agents of Mahiliou proceed to journalists of independent mass media. At 9 p.m. on 12 March they came to an apartment of a journalist of Radio Racyja Aliaksandr Burakou to present him a summons for interrogation.
The door was opened by the journalist’s mother, who said he was not at home. Then they proposed her to sign for receiving the summons, but she refused to do it.
As said by Burakou, he was physically unable to come to the KGB on 13 March, as specified in the summons, as he was out of the city, but would come to the KGB on return to Mahiliou. He thinks the KGB wants to interrogate him in connection with a criminal case against an unregistered organization Young Front. The journalist paid interest to the conditions of imprisonment of the organization’s leaders Zmitser Dashkevich and Artur Finkevich. He also received several letters from Dashkevich. Before Burakou the KGB paid interest to Iuliia Haranchakova, Iryna Kacharava, Iury Tsiukau, Anton Ustsimchuk and a student of Mahiliou state university who didn’t want his surname be mentioned.
