According to the UCP press-service
On 7 March in Minsk the traffic police detained a deputy chair of the United Civil Party Ihar Shynkaryk and confiscated from him about 50 000 copies of the bulletin Svabodu Belarusi (Freedom to Belarus). The traffic police escorted him to the main police department of Minsk district executive committee. Near the department the policemen made video shooting of him and his car. Then they took away his private belongings, including the valet and the mobile phone. They left only the necessary medicines. A worker in mufti also shot on video the explanations that were taken from the detainee by police captain A.Aleshka. The explanations were taken in presence of a deputy chair of the public security police M.Hryb and an unknown man in mufti, who most probably was not a policeman as he didn’t know other policemen who entered the room. He threatened that a criminal case under article 228 of the Criminal Code (smuggling) would be brought against Shynkaryk (the bulletin was printed in Smolensk, Russia). After giving the explanations Mr. Shynkaryk was released. The police returned to him his thinks and said they would call him after taking a decision on his case.
