Admission to State Service on Recommendations again

From now on all who want to take official positions at state power organs will have to present characteristics and letters of introduction from at least two state officials who will then bear responsibility for the work and behavior of the newcomers.

Such order of employment is prescribed by a letter sent to all state organs on behalf of the prime-minister Siarhei Sidorski. It reminds of the order of joining the Communist party in the Soviet Union. One of the possible reasons why it is done is to save the state organs from ˜unreliable’ persons who are attracted by high wages and pensions and the possibility to receive duty apartments. Another is that there exists some unofficial ˜party of the power’ and employment to a position in the state organs means joining it.
