At 3.30 a.m. on 26 February at Makrany border crossing the Belarusian border guards stopped a bus Lviv-Minsk by which 42 students and senior pupils, activists of different youth organizations, were returning home from the Ukraine.

During the examination the border guards found and confiscated several discs with The Square (a film about the events of 19-25 March 2006 in Minsk, when police violently dispersed a peaceful protest action) and took away for expertise Daryia Rumiantsava’s laptop.

The bus was detained on the border for 11 hours without explanation of the reasons. During the examination the border guards talked on their walkie-talkies and received directions from unknown persons. It’s worth mentioning that the law provides only 20 minutes for examination of a bus during crossing the state border.
