An activist of the Free Trade Union, a former leader of the Belarusian People’s Front party branch in Barysau (Minsk region) Anatol Askerka has been dismissed from Belarusian-German joint venture Frebor. The Charter’97 press-center has been informed about that by Barysau opposition activist Zmitser Barodka. It is worth mentioning that a former chairman of Barysau city executive committee Vasil Burhun has become the director of the joint venture recently.

After Vasil Burhun occupied the position of the joint venture’s director, employment contracts are concluded with workers. Contracts for 3-5 years have been concluded with most employees. However Anatol Askerka, a politically active fitter has been offered a one-year contract by the administration of Freber.

Anatol Askerka has been working at the enterprise for 15 years. He demanded to conclude a 5-year contract with him reasonably. However, Vasil Burhun refused. The contract wasn’t stricken, and Anatol Askerka lost his job.

The activist of the Free Trade Union links the refusal to negotiate a contract with him with ‘private vengeance’ of the former mayor.
