According to the Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Liavontsi Kharuzhyk, over 80,000 citizens of Belarus said no to the construction of a radioactive waste storage in Lithuania near the Belarusian border. As a result of this and many negotiations Lithuanian authorities decided to build the storage several kms from the border (instead of 800 metres).
