On 23 January the Embassy of Latvia filed with the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Belarus a note concerning the defilement of the building of the Embassy in Minsk in the evening of 22 January, when unknown persons threw on the faзade of the building bottles with black paint and scattered leaflets with National-Bolshevik symbols on the adjacent territory. An analogical act of vandalism was performed in 2005.

In an interview with RFE/RL the Ambassador Mira Mora said: ‘The perimeter and the outside of the Embassy are guarded by the Belarusian side. We file a note because it is a usual practice in such cases. The Embassy was not guarded well enough and it has led to such consequences for the second time already. I hope that this time the Belarusian law machinery will execute its work and will find and find guilty the organization that exists and acts in Belarus…’ ‘I don’t know what they thought about, but the Estonian Embassy moved out of this building more than a year ago’, added the Ambassador.
