Homel: Candidate Viktar Karniaienka Complains to Prosecutor’s Office

A well-known Homel politician, candidate to Homel regional deputy soviet Viktar Karniaienka has filed with Homel regional prosecutor two complaints with requests for criminal punishment of workers of Homel city executive committee and workers of Homel regional traffic policemen for limiting the electoral rights of citizens and interference with election agitation.
In the first complaint Mr. Karniaienka stated that on 30 December Homel CEC limited his right to hold election meeting, and on 6 January a group of traffic policemen detained for two hours his proxies Uladzimir Katsora, Aliaksandr Milinkevich and Leanid Sudalenka, groundlessly accusing them of having provoked a road accident. As a result the proxies were unable to come to an electoral meeting with Homel residents.
The second complaint concerns the repeated detention of his proxies Uladzimir Katsora and Halina Skarakhod on 9 January.
