Belarusian Congress of Democratic Trade Unions Signs Agreement with Polish Trade Union Solidarnosc

On 11 January the chair of the Belarusian Congress of democratic trade unions (BCDTU) Aliaksandr Iarashuk and the chair of the Polish independent self-governed trade union Solidarnosc Janusz Sniadek signed a cooperation agreement. According to the Belarusian newspaper Salidarnasts, the main tasks of the agreement are: fostering the growth of authority of the trade unions at international arena and defense of social and economical rights and interests of workers by means of seminars and conferences. The agreement also provides holding at least one meeting of the leaders of the two organizations a year for coordination of activities.
