This year an educational program named after the hero of the Belarusian national-liberation movement Kastus Kalinouski has been open in Poland. Thus, those who were expelled from higher educational establishments of Belarus, including many activists of NGOs were given an opportunity to continue their studies.

In the end of December 2006 – the beginning of 2007 the majority of students returned home for Christmas holidays by railway. When a group of students from Homel region crossed the border, they were thoroughly examined by the border guards who were looking for printed editions and also checked all informational carriers and laptops.

Some of the students had the same trouble when returning to Poland after the vacations, though this time the border guards didn’t ask them about money.
