The chair of Homel city executive committee Vusau rejected an application that was submitted by a candidate to deputy position, UCP member Mikalai Kaliuka. Mr. Kaliuka asked to permit to him an election picket near a market in Valatava suburb on 6 January, because the recent amendments to the election laws prohibit to candidates organization of street meetings with electors without official permission. In his answer Mr. Vusau, who is also the head of Homel city election commission, stated that such pickets could be held only near the Palace of association of the deaf. It’s quite far from Valatau suburb.

‘Now I can have only one question to him – how will they take the electors to the place where election pickets can be held?’ – Kaliuka commented.
