Young Front States that Zmitser Dashkevich’s Transfer to Corrective Labor Colony Is Illegal

Today in the night a political prisoner, the leader of the Young Front Zmitser Dashkevich was transferred to the corrective colony of Shklou. The authorities again break the current law, according to which Zmitser Dashkevich can be transferred to the colony only after the final judgement, after a cassation appeal, the Young Front states.

The Young Front finds the action of the authorities completely illegal and states that Dashkevich’s transfer to a colony is another attempt of pressure on the political prisoner.

On 1 November the Young Front leader Zmitser Dashkevich was sentenced to a year and a half of imprisonment in a minimum-security correctional labour facility for violation of the Article 193 Part 1 ‘Activities on behalf of unregistered organizations’. On 15 December a session of the court in studying the complaint of illegal verdict to the Young Front leader is to take place.
