Border Guards Don’t Return Passport to Aliaksandr Milinkevich’s Son
On 7 December a son of the leader of the united democratic forces of Belarus, Aliaksandr Milinkevich Jr., came to the Department of frontier crossing points. The State Committee of border-security forces’ representatives promised him that his passport seized on 29 November would be given back to him. However, instead of that, the son of the politician was interrogated for 2 hours. Border guards where interested how his passport turned out to be in his father’s pocket.
A passport of Aliaksandr Milinkevich Jr. was seized by border guards on November 29 during a personal search of the leader of the united democratic forces Aliaksandr Milinkevich in the airport Minsk-2. As we have informed, the leader of the united democratic forces visited Riga on November 26-29. He participated in the NATO summit. On his departure from Minsk, border guards stamped his son’s passport by mistake. It was noticed only when the politician returned back. Border guards haven’t recognized their mistake. They accused Aliaksandr Milinkevich of intentional crossing the border with invalid documents. The politician is to face the trial.
Aliaksandr Milinkevich Jr. will try to get his passport back in two weeks, but in the visa registration office in Hrodna, after the case of the democratic leaders would be taken to the court. At least the border guards have promised so.
