RFE/RL reports, three teachers of YanauSchool (Kletsk district) recalled their signatures for local democratic activist Ina Kebikava. At first the teachers decided to support their former student who runs in their district. However, later they asked to promptly cancel their signatures.
Ina Kebikava explains, she asked her teachers for support. She was one of the best students in her class and graduated with honors: “In the beginning they were glad to put their signatures for me. They praised my decision to run for the local council. However, later they called me and asked to cross their signatures out. They told me they were afraid of repression”. Ina Kebikava, 23, graduated from YanauSchool with honors. Then she graduated from Belarusian State Teacher’s University and was sent to teach English language to Hrytsevichy School of Kletsk district. In the beginning of November she was fired from work. Head of Kletsk education department Anatol Klimovich and his wife Alena Klimovich, director of the HrytsevichySchool, accused the young teacher of indiscipline. Before that they rebuked her for wearing a white-red-white flag pin on her bag and an “Our Ukraine” scarf.
