“No one has the right to interfere in the election process. Lukashenka’s statement means that he has interfered and regulated the voting procedure, and the results were “adjusted”. That needs attention of the Prosecutor General. He is to provide for the rule of law in the country, and one of the functions of the prosecutor’s office is monitoring statements in mass media. There is criminal responsibility for rigging the election results. This is a ground for removing Lukashenka from office”, -- stated human rights activist Valiantsin Stefanovic. He commented on the Lukashenka’s statement made during press-conference for Ukrainian mass media.

“The international community did not recognize the election results. Numerous violations have been recorded during the election, and we know that such a high percentage of voters did not vote for Lukashenka. This is also pointed out in the OSCE/ODIHR report. Now Lukashenka recognizes the fact that he has influenced the election results”, -- Stefanovic said.

During the press conference for Ukrainian journalists Alexander Lukashenka claimed the presidential election in March this year has been rigged.

“We falsified the last election. 93.5% voted for Lukashenka. However, they say, this is not a European number. We made it 86% then”, -- Lukashenka claimed. According to him, in the run up to the election Europeans promised that if “the election result is more or less European, the lections will be recognized legitimate”. “But it didn’t happen. They promised they’ll recognize the election, but they didn’t”.
